Dinner with Dutchies

The 'Dinner with Dutchies' Project

Everyone is always welcome to join this project, no matter your religious or non-religious background.

'We really loved the evening. We had a cultural experience without going away.'

During the academic year 2018-2019 around 20 students were connected to a host family. Students often tell us that they really love this project. One student told us: “I’ve had dinner with Fenke the other day and I just wanted to let you know that it was a very nice evening. Fenke is really friendly and she made us feel at home. We had lots of food and good conversations. Thank you for putting us in contact!”

On the other hand, also host families enjoy the evenings with students. A family sent us an e-mail and wrote: “We really loved the evening. We had a cultural experience without going away.” Another family told us that they went canoeing, had dinner afterwards, and are still in contact with the two students who visited them.

Living in a new country and city can be really lonely sometimes. We want to help you, to give you a nice evening, and to broaden your social network. Our host families are already waiting for you and wanting to welcome you in their homes.

How does it work?

You sign up and will be matched with a host. You receive each other contact details and can plan a dinner when suits you both. You can meet up as often as you both like.
